    Description

Really nice French apothecary canisters with lids dating from the mid to late nineteenth century as far as we could tell. The stamp on the bottom of one shows T Bobin, located on rue de fourcy 5, has been at that location at least since 1873 as per an old newspaper or other document referencing the shop. We believe these were possibly used in a barber shop since one seems to translate into ‘shave’ while the other was clearly for zinc oxide which can be used on cuts to stop bleeding. Note that while the two are very close in appearance, they are not a matched pair. One is slightly larger and one has gilding. Both, however, have beautifully painted wreaths that are similar, if not exact. Please see all the photos for more details and dimensions. Will ship UPS Ground. No international shipping on this item.
