The trimmer has long been Cutco's most popular knife and for good reason...it's also their most versatile. This model is the ultimate utility knife and quickly becomes the "go to" knife in just about any kitchen. This is a model 1021 and it's from Cutco 3rd generation of knives that ran from 1960-1971. The handle is Cutco's Lamb style handle from inventor Thomas Lamb. This type of handle was also used by Gerber and several other top companies.
The knife has seen quite a bit of use and it remains very solid with lots of life left. It has not been sharpened or refurbished and remains original. The etched markings are no longer visible due to wear. The knife features Cutco's patented "DD" edge. "DD" stands for "double durability" and differs from standard serrated edges. The serration channels are more squared which helps to channel cut material out of the cutting zone for smoother, more efficient cutting. The edge is free of any cracks, chips, dings, or damage and remains nice with just some normal wear as shown. It remains sharp and the knife is ready for immediate use, although a quick trip to Cutco for a fresh (and free) edge would deliver the best performance. Cutco would also polish the handle at no charge as well. The tip is intact and original with no breaks or bending. The handle on this example remains very nice and it's free of the heavy dishwasher bleaching/fade so common to these knives. The surfaces remain dark and rich with a silky-smooth feel in the hand and the handle is free of any cracks, chips, marring, or damage with some normal wear as shown. It's beautifully grained and the surfaces are free of any stains or discoloration. .
