    Description

GAYWAY TOKENS WERE ONLY USED IN THE ARCADE AT THE CENTER OF THE GAYWAY OR MIDWAY, THE AMUSEMENT CENTER AT THE CENTURY 21 EXPOSITION. THEY WERE ISSUED IN TWO SIZES BUT WE HAVE NEVER FOUND ANY DIFFERENCE IN VALUE. THIS PIECE IS SMALLER THAN A DIME WHILE THE OTHER SIZE IF CLOSER TO A NICKEL IN DIAMETER. BOTH ARE A WHITE METAL OF SOME TYPE.
THE FAIR HAD A VARIETY OF COIN TOSS GAMES--GET IT INTO A FLOATING CUP TO WIN A PRICE, LAND IN A CIRCLE ON THE BOARD TO WIN A PRIZE AND SO ON. I CAN'T CONFIRM BUT BELIEVE THESE WERE VALUED AT A DIME.  A FAIRGOER COULD TOSS A DIME OR TWO BUT FOR THOSE WHO WANTED TO TAKE CHANCES IN BULK, THE EMPLOYEE COULD SELL TEN OF THESE TO SOMEONE FOR A DOLLAR BILL. I DON'T BELIEVE THEY WERE SOLD AT A DISCOUNT, SUCH AS 12 OR 15 FOR A DOLLAR.
IT WOULD BE GREAT TO KNOW JUST HOW MANY OF THESE WERE STRUCK FOR USE AT THE FAIR BUT WE'VE NEVER FOUND SUCH RECORDS.
    SHIPPED ONLY IN THE US.
THIS LOT IS FOR ONE TOKEN ONLY, BUT MULTIPLES ARE AVAILABLE.
