Description
OO suit HO Tri-ang Hornby Class 37 diesel-electric locomotive in British Rail corporate blue with the pre-TOPS running number D6830 (later TOPS 37 130) in working order and guaranteed as such. Buffers and couplings are complete. The body was used to create Hornby's 'Thomas' character Diesel D261 (which should be a class 40 with different wheel arrangement ..ugh!) so with a bit of a stretch, some green paint, and the face off a cheaper toy ....
A decent Class 37 for your 1970's British layout but not for the rivet counters! Tri-ang Hornby used the Class 31 mechanism and the sideframes are incorrect for a Class 37. The dodge of simulating the middle wheel by just molding half of it is outrageous. The tragedy continued with the Class 37 when it was upgraded with the Ringfield motor - Hornby used Class 47 frames!
I've also used this mechanism for a Dapol/Kitmaster Deltic, and used the Deltic wheels to make a non-powered Class 37 which actually looks quite good!
At .95 with a postal contribution of .95, the total, even with 10% tax if you are so unfortunate to live in a State which so unfairly charges such tax on second-user goods, should come to a little under
